I actually think this is a great format for you. You sounded great and not at all long. Would be interesting to hear the stories behind new songs or old songs. I know you don’t want it to be a podcast, but you have so many songs that I’m sure many of your fans would like to hear a 5-10 minute behind the song story.
I thoroughly enjoyed your audio letter!! and i echo the desire to hear more about the stories behind the songs and your thoughts.
Also: I am so grateful for your music. I have been struggling with super high anxiety lately, and your music/voice and the atmosphere created in your albums has been such a help; a sonic soothing, if you will. aural xanax? :) thank you thank you thank you.
Congrats on the new studio company - I used to be the “caretaker” at the Abbey many moons ago (aka janitor). Swept and mopped the floor of that great room many many early mornings. Such a special space
I too want to put Halloween decorations out. I actually just leave a small murder of black metal crows in the yard rear round. This year I planted some pumpkins around them.
Just listened to your voice recording. I appreciate you man. I feel this audio post is so much more personable than typed word. You've made this substack more authentic and "real". Looking forward to more!
I’d dance to Leopard Man all night and fall asleep to Disliking the Spoons in the morning. I love Passing the Giraffes. Please tell us more about Call Me Madam. Would you maybe post the lyrics of leopard man too?

PLEASE POST MORE OF THESE! Enjoyed it!
I enjoyed the audio journal a lot, and would welcome a post per single. Would love to hear you go on and on about your love for recording, too :)

Also, could you please spell out the name of the incense you mentioned a few times? Thanks!
Nag Champa
Man, this was awesome. I need to get into the incense game.
This was great. All of the ideas you suggested—especially explanations of the newest singles—would also be appreciated.
This was a great listen! I’d love to hear posts about your new singles:)

Audio books- yes please. In depth discussions of songs- yep. Smoking psychology- sure. Why summer sucks- absolutely.
my favorite recent audio book is Neal Postman’s Technopoly, published in 1993. That book is like a time traveller.
